This monument, dedicated to one of the most important Serbian writers and painters, is located on the plateau in front of his house at 34 Skadarska St. The poet lived in a squalid apartment in the courtyard of a small-town single-story house named after this eminent writer, artist, romanticist and bohemian from Belgrade. The author of the sitting figure of Đura Jakšić is the famous sculptor Jovan Soldatović from Novi Sad.
