The municipality of Obrenovac ia located in the middle of the Lower Kolubara basin, the wide valleys of the rivers Kolubara and Tamnava, reaching Šumadija in the east and the south, in the west it borders the Pocerina Mt., and on its northern side meanders the river Sava, close to Belgrade and its confluence with the Danube.

On the territory of the municipality of Obrenovac, a spa health resort is located and which has been reconstructed 117 years after its opening. The building of the Regional baths has kept its look, which now stands as a lasting memory of the old town of Obrenovac.

The spring of the spa water Cevka next to the hotel Obrenovac is one of the most favourite retreat areas of the residents of Obrenovac. 

Amongst all these green oases of Obrenovac, one of the most famous is Jožica’s Hut (Jožića koliba), the historical-ecological locality on the shores of the Kolubara river. It is a unique ecological garden, in which many indigenous and exotic plants are being cultivated. It is also a shelter for birds and other animals, as well as an area designated for the conservation of Lye oak trees, which are rare not only in Serbia, but worldwide as well. 

The natural wealth Obrenovacki Zabran represents a green oasis for the nearby population. The most significant part of the whole complex is Jazbinska bara, which has the protection level 2 due to the rare communities of plants and animals that reside there, while the surrounding area has the protection level 3. The most recognizable element of Zabran is the Path of Health, named so by Mika Vilotić; it goes through the very central part of the forest, with a total length of 1480 meters.

The Arboretum, the green area of special purpose, is located on a field of 1,66 hectars and it is mainly intended for educational purposes, so that visitors can get to know the various exotic and indigenous plants, and it also provides a great place for relaxation, walking and resting. It is located just a couple of minutes from the center of Obrenovac.

The biggest events organized in Obrenovac are: the Summer in Obrenovac, the International meetings in Obrenovac, the City of Open Hearts, the Obrenovac Fair.
